Fashion Blogger Indonesia: Rosalinda Tjio

To love Fashion is to love the person. Kalau diperumpamakan, sort of like “you are what you eat” tapi kali ini we call it as “you are what you wear!”

Dan kali ini, Dskon.com hadir memberi exclusive interview all about fashion langsung dari Rosalinda Tjio, penulis dibalik salah satu fashion blog ternama Indonesia – Nine In The Afternoon!

Fashion Blogger Indonesia : Rosalinda Tjio

Fashion should be different! Reading her post should feels like an adventure, cause we will never know what would she wear from one day to another day. Ingin tahu lebih lanjut tentang si quirky Rose? Simak interview eksklusif kami berikut ini!

Hi Rose! Cerita sedikit tentang awal mula Nine in the Afternoon?

Hello!  Selain banyak terinspirasi lewat post dari fashion blogger-fashion blogger lain, I also always love fashion. It’s one of my passion and definitely an obsession! Berawal dari kedua hal ini, then I decided to make my own fashion journal.

You sounded really bubbly when talk about fashion, memangnya siapa sih yang mengenalkan Rosalinda Tjio pada industri ini?

I think my father kinda did. When he has to work overseas, he always bought me some clothes, dan mungkin hobby belanja aku sendiri juga tertular dari dia, hahaha! He likes to purchase really quirky shirts himself, and that’s probably the thing that grabbed my attention to the fashion world.

Bicara tentang quirky items, We saw a lot of cutting edge trends and statement shoes – kinda look like a japanese inspired look – in most of your outfit post. Is it your personal look?

Yes, I do adore Japanese inspired look very much! I usually opt them in a more subtle way. I also love preppy and oversized looks, and also layering! I love comfortable and warm outfits!

And of course the one that grabbed our attention - Unlike most girls who crave for heels, we saw boots and creepers defining your style. Has it always been like that?

Haha, it wasn’t firstly like that! Dulu aku sempat suka juga sama heels ko, but I had too many bad incidents wearing that, like getting blisters and stuffs. Lagipula, fashion should not hurt, it should be comfortable in any kind of way. And that’s why I stopped, and fell in love with these quirky ones! hahha

There’s always challenges.

How’s life of a fashion student? What do you usually do, and what are the challenges?

Well, there’s always new things coming when you’re a fashion student! Like currently, I am working on managing a fashion event (coming soong at the end of July!). While in the normal days, I would be busy making sample products and planning a brand concept. Sometimes it’s exhausting to go back and forth to the CMT, finding the right fabrics while you’re being really tight with the deadline, but the challenges always fun!

We know everone has their own style and own way to show their identity. And sometimes, some people dont really get that.

Kadang sih suka diliatin sama orang-orang kalo pas jalan di mall, mostly the older people are the ones who gave the weird stares. But other than that, I got no problem. Temen-temen juga udah biasa ngeliat aku kayak gini, haha!

Now we bet that you have tons of plans in becoming next big thing in fashion industry. Would you be kind to share a little bit of your plans?

Other than sharing my point of view of the fashion industry through blogging, I wouls also love to launch my own clothing line. Yes, that is one of my objectives in life!

Siapa desainer favorit Rose dan mengapa?

Keichii Muramatsu from “Everlasting Sprout” (a Japanese brand) all the way! No matter what season it is, he always injects lots and lots of prints and colours to his collection. His style is more on to preppy and comfortable side, which totally reflects my style!

Which city that you think has the most interesting fashion scene? Elaborate and give details!

I guess you might know what my answer is, haha! absolutely Tokyo! I’m so inspired by their innovative, creative and loud looks. It’s like, you don’t have to care what other people think, as long as you’re happy with what you’re wearing.

What about Indonesia’s fashion industry? What interesting about it? And What’s not?

I’m always excited to know there are more and more creative designers launching their lines! They’re just really full with originality and creativity. While in contrary, I’m not happy with people underestimating them though, they still depend on international products too much!

I love everything ombre! Ombre hair, ombre fabrics, ombre nails, and etc. I think psychedelic floral patterns are so in as well!

And trends that are outdated?

Mullet skirts and low-high hem line. I think they’re getting too mainstream.

Describe yourself in 3 different words!

Laid-back, easy-going, passionate!

Dengan karakternya yang serba positif juga energik, ditambak taste fashion yang serba unik, we sure that this girl could be the next big thing! Kalau kamu salah satu yang ingin tahu lebih banyak tentang rose, dont forget to visit her blog!
